LEAP announces the release of Outside The Long Walls – Live at Alsos Veikou (En Lefko mini Concert), the new live album from the collaborative project of Lefteris Volanis and Dimitris Pagidas, members of No Clear Mind. It is a unique live capture of their much-acclaimed debut Outside The Long Walls, which was released in 2024 by Veego Records and embraced for its melancholic beauty, hybrid aesthetic, and deep atmosphere.

The recording took place in June 2025 in the natural setting of Alsos Veikou in Athens, as part of En Lefko 87.7 radio’s En Lefko mini Concerts series, which invited the duo to perform the entire album live. For the performance, the two creators were joined by musicians: Christos Vigos (drums), Axios Zafeirakos (bass), Iakovos Pavlopoulos (percussion), Dimitris Ventourakis (piano, synthesizers), and Panagiotis Ziavras (marimba), along with Volanis himself (electric guitar, vocals) and Pagidas (saxophone, classical guitar, vocals).

The result is a performance full of sensitivity, introspection, and a solid musical identity, capturing with precision the sonic universe of Outside The Long Walls: guitars moving between 70s tones and indie textures; synths with a nostalgic analog aura; gentle percussion reminiscent of flowing water; saxophone appearing at pivotal moments; vocals acting as another instrument within the atmosphere.

The live album highlights the organic cohesion of a work already described as one of the most distinctive Greek releases in recent years. With new age shades, ambient breaths, folk details, electronic outbursts, and soft rock references, their music continues to hover “neither urban nor rural,” just like in the original album—a liminal space where memory, emotion, and movement become sonic landscapes.

Volanis and Pagidas, experimenters of the contemporary Greek scene with significant paths in No Clear Mind as well as in personal and cinematic works, revisit their material here with maturity and finesse. The live version of Outside The Long Walls does not merely attempt to reproduce the studio-recorded original; it re-illuminates it. The compositions breathe differently, expand, open up, leaving room for the unpredictability of the live moment, for silence, for the erosion of air. It is a living ritual that captures the essence of this project: a permanent, unceasing search.

LEAP honors this performance with a digital release that places the listener inside the concert space, inside the grove, within the echo of Athens beneath the city’s walls. A live album that functions both as a companion piece and as a standalone work.
